Why Join TKE?

Our Stats

- Tau Kappa Epsilon is the worlds largest social Fraternity, and we have held that title for over 50 years.  We have chapters all over the United States and Canada and have an exchange program with a fraternal organization in Germany. 

TKE was founded on diversity - "Not for wealth, Rank or Honor. But personal worth and character".  That means that we don't look for cookie cutter brothers.  We want indivduals who bring something different to the table.  That mix of people gives us a strength over other fraternities. 

What does that mean to you?  ROAD TRIP!  We are encouraged as Teke's to visit each other's chapters.  Since we're so big you'll find TKE on most campuses you want to visit.  That means you'll find brothers there to welcome you and a couch to crash on. 

Since we're the largest fraternity in the world - we also produce a large number of alumni that can help you network after graduation.  TKE offers Career Center Advice, Online Networking, and TKE's own version of careerbuilder and monster.

- Towson's chapter of TKE has been named Top Teke Chapter multiple times.  That means that we excel in Leadership, membership, recruitment, Scholarship, Philanthropy and community service, alumni interaction, and involvement.  These are tools that we teach each of our members and they take with them into the real world.

What do we do?

TKE is your one stop shop for activities.  Pretty much anything you might be interested in TKE does.

Athletics: TKE participates in a number of intramural sports including:

-Flag Football (Mens and Coed)
-Soccer (Mens and Coed)
-Volleyball (Coed)
-Basketball (Mens)
-Softball (Mens and coed)
-Dodgeball (All Greek)
-Frats at Bat (All Fraternity)
-Greek Olympics (All Greek)

Leadership: TKE's are encouraged to take up leadership positions within the school.  We serve in Student Government Association, as Orientation Leaders, the Interfraternity Council, Student Ambassadors just to name a few.  We also send members to Leadership Conferences locally, regionally, and Nationally.

As a member of TKE you will be given a chance to take on real world leadership roles.  You'll be able to put on your resume that you handle budgets, finances, manage over 60 people, and have excellant project management skills and be able to give examples.

School Spirit: Fraternity and Sorority Life are some of the most active groups at Towson University.  We dominate homecoming each year with Homecoming Week, which is when we pair up with a sorority for activities all week long going up against other Fraternity/Sorority Teams.  You'll also find us at Football, Lacrosse, Basketball, baseball/softball games throughout the year.  You'll also see us celebrating Greek Life during Greek Week when we battle it out with the other Fraternities on campus. 

Philanthropy and Community Service: TKE as a chapter reports hundreds of hours of Philanthropy and Community service hours each year.  As with everything we keep our 'All About Fun' attitude when working on these projects.  Along with going out into the community we also produce events the Girls of Towson Calendar and Karaoke for Alzheimers.

Brotherhood: You'll find that the men you meet and grow with at TKE will be the best friends of your life.  You'll find our alumni still keep in touch with each other years after they leave school.  The guys that hold you up when you're in school will be the men standing next to you at your wedding and having BBQ's with you when you buy your first home.  You may find our members hanging out playing video games, a pickup football or basketball game, eating lunch together in the susq, or hanging out on the beach.  Taking road trips together, spring breaks, and brotherhood retreats are traditions of our chapter.  Feel free to stop one of us on campus and ask any questions you might have!

And of course, we are a Social Organization: TKE has an active social calendar every semester.  We have socials with the various sororities, Themed Parties, Formals and Balls, Brotherhood Trips, Alumni Weekends, Homecoming Celebrations, Greek Week, and Sweetheart Searches.

What does this come down to?  There's always something going on in TKE Nation - you'll never be looking for something to do during the weekend.
